Brief
The brief was to work with the portal vendor to provide user interface design specifications for the new partner portal, guidance on corporate branding and style guidelines. I also had to propose a content structure to enable me to populate the fully branded partner portal. The project included launching modules for the production of co-branded collateral, partner training, new functionality and ongoing portal updates.
Solution
I began working with Blackboard (now Anthology) to ensure the new portal, above all else, was intuitive to use and simple to navigate to encourage users to return. Today, Blackboard has partners from over 65 countries. These partners actively engage with the portal to access news, events, training, campaigns and marketing resources.
"With the excellent support from Penny at Abstract Marketing, we successfully launched on time. She remains an integral and trusted part of our team in evolving the portal and other key projects for Blackboard.”
Our relationship has developed to the point that I maintain the site and keep it fresh with regular content updates. I also developed the channel partner training programme, including course content, quizzes and certificate design for selected modules. I produce monthly reports and site performance analysis which means that Blackboard can see the impact of the work I’m doing.
Blackboard needed to work with somebody who had an in-depth knowledge of the channel partner eco-system and who could quickly understand the complexities of what was required. They also wanted a partner with the skill set to produce user interface designs and understand the types of content that channel partners would find useful.
Blackboard wanted a portal that was easy for partners to make as their 'one stop shop’ to access tools to accelerate sales.
